Buenos Aires
Faced with the prospect of spending 50 hours in a bus to get from Ushuaia back to to Buenos Aires, it was an easy decision to jump on a plane instead. Sad to leave Patagonia and probably our favourite part of the adventure so far. Lo and behold we arrived into scorching heat (about 35 degrees), us in our fleeces and heavy winter gear..think we can put that to the bottom of the rucksack!
Spent a few very pleasant days wandering around the city...stayed in Palermo which is full of green parks, beautiful restaurants and happening bars..a really cool part of town. Went exploring in San Telmo, famous for being the tango centre of BA, lots of cobblestone streets, a massive antiques market and from there took a a walk uo to Boca to see the famous Boca Juniors stadium..not really the safest part of town to be a camera-bearing tourist!
After a quick visit to Evita´s grave, a few quality nights out and sad farewell to Dirk and Ines it was time to decide where to go next. The lesser visited Uruguay won out in the end!
